Teacher's Day

I am indebted to my father for living, but to my teacher for living well. ~Alexander the Great.

Teachers mould our life and to show our appreciation for them we celebrate Teacher's day on 5th September.

It is the birthday of our late president Dr. Radhakrishnan. When Dr. Radhakrishnan became the President of India in 1962, some of his students and friends approached him and requested him to allow them to celebrate his birthday. In reply, Dr, Radhakrishnan said, “instead of celebrating my birthday separately, it would be my proud privilege if September 5th is observed as Teacher's day”.

On this day we the students of Hillside School arranged a program to thank our beloved teachers for all the love and directions we have been getting from them. The program was a grand success and left the teachers happy and proud.

We had speeches in different languages, followed by a scintillating dance number by our seniors which left all the teachers speechless ,a hilarious skit presented by grade 8 added to the enjoyment of the show .

The juniors presented cards made by the whole school to all the teachers which were appreciated by them. As all the teachers of our school are fun loving we arranged quick games for them like treasure hunt and musical chairs followed by prize distribution.

The fete organized by us for the cause of “Polio Eradication” was a success as we collected a good amount. It gave all of us great satisfaction and happiness and made us feel proud of ourselves that we as students can also do so much for the society. We thank our teachers and parents for their support.  View Photos »

Grandparents Day :
As we seek to strengthen the enduring values of the family, it is appropriate that we honor our grandparents."It is important that your gift should be straight from the heart. It should convey your true love and affection for them".

With an aim to make children recognize and appreciate their grandparents for their values and contribution made to their families and the society, MHSA celebrated Grandparents day on 19th August , 2010 at the school premises. The whole programmme was anchored by the students.

Mrs Lydia Christina (PYP Coordinator ) welcomed the grandparents along with Kavya the Head Girl . Kavya was very eloquent when she expressed that every child has fond memories forever of their grandparents holding on their tiny hands with affection. No doubt grandparents have silvery hair but their hearts always have been golden. One can say that a little bit of parent, a little bit of teacher, a little bit of best friend all rolled into one is the grandparent. Mrs.Pratima Sinha the Principal spoke on the role played by grandparents in a child's life; their involvement in the upbringing of their grandchildren, the right values learnt from them and how young and interactive grandparents are these days.

The children entertained their grandparents by heart touching songs, dance and short skits. After a hearty tea snack break, the grandparents were tested on their physical fitness by inviting them to participate in the game of bean bag throw and musical chairs. The competitive spirit among the participants was very high with their grand children cheering them on. After the celebration was over, one of the grandparents remarked that he had come to the school as 60 plus and was leaving for home as a child of 6. The grandparents who had gathered heartily thanked the Management, Teachers and Students of Hillside School for organizing this event.Students bid their grand parents goodbye with special thank you letters . - View Event Photos »

Energizing blue day

Our little ones were all set for the blue day. They wore blue outfits with matching accessories like clips and hair bands.

They used different shades of blue while colouring and made book marks. The real fun started when they were asked to fill a bucket with water. They were divided into two teams and both the teams strived to fill the bucket first. View more »

International Jokes day

The WOW factor for a better world

1st July, 2010 was a very special day for the students of Hillside School as they were part of the ‘ WOW ’ (Wealth out of waste) programme initiated by ITC Limited and RAMKEY GROUP.

The appeal made by ITC to the school for active participation turned into a reality , with the students putting up a thought provoking mime performance titled "The Hope".

It showcased the formation of the earth with the five elements - who are the givers and of how man in his greed for more destroys everything that has been given to him on a platter, leading to anger by the elements and the destruction of mankind. But then there is always ‘HOP’, the hope of rejuvenation and living in harmony with nature. This was the message to all. . . .

In front of the esteemed audience consisting of the chief Minister of A.P K. Rosaiah and many other central and state ministers as well as students of nearly 30 leading schools of Hyderabad

Hillside School students stood out by making a difference in their presentation of thought. The high energy, the confidence, the involvement, the initiative lead to a volcanic and mind blowing performance by them which was felt and appreciated by everybody present. We hope they will be able to mobilize and carry forward the WOW programme for their better future.View more »
